Drawing the Season - Life Drawing with Jo Blaker

This new Life Drawing class, led by artist Jo Blaker, offers confident life drawers the opportunity to experiment & approach drawing the figure from a seasonal perspective. This April we will be exploring the energy of Spring & developing our drawings around two themes - nest building & growth. We’ll think beyond spring aesthetics to consider the forces at play in the natural world & find ways of applying this to our drawing process. We’ll also explore the spring colour palette - working with luminous greens.

This session offers new & exciting approaches to life drawing through its focus on the cycles, phenomena & forms found in nature. We will draw in response to natural forms & sensory stimuli & combine this work with those of drawings of the human form. We will explore mark making, natural drawing tools, different papers, colour palettes etc in our responses to these themes.

This session is devised to stimulate your creativity & expression as an artist. Your tutor, Jo will be drawing throughout the session & the atmosphere is one of peer learning. This class does not include teaching on proportion, measuring or other formal aspects of life drawing.

The length of this session ensures time to share & discuss both the process & the work.
