If you feel confident in a skill or a project that you have learned with us in a 6 week course, you can repeat those skills on your own, in your membership access time.
There is no tuition in the membership time slots; our technician is around to help keep people safe, show you where things are in the studio, help you get projects on your shelf/trolley etc, and put your pieces through the kilns.
They are not there to cut your glass or centre your clay or show you techniques, etc. You must have a basic knowledge of the area you are working in.
For fused glass, we are alternating between one term of a taught 6 week course, and one term of membership time slots. So you can learn new techniques with your tutor on our course, then duplicate the project, on your own, the following term in PP time slots.
Building your skills with our tutors will lead to you building your confidence!

We recommend members start their subscription as close to the 1st of each month as possible. This way, we can track your hours per month much easier.
Memberships should be purchased as close as possible to the 1st of the month.
You can book your free induction in the days running upto your membership start date - we have these on Mondays and Wednesdays towards the end of each month, so that you are ready to go on the 1st of the month!
-
Find the induction type necessary for your membership, on our booking system here.
Our Globee technician Lauren, will run several of these, monthly, on Monday and Wednesdays. These are currently set at the end of a month, during daytimes and evenings, and these are free- as part of your membership.
If you are definitely starting a membership subscription with us - you can book a free induction before you’ve paid us a penny!
This way- you are prepared, know the building, have seen our studio space and kit, and can start on your project as soon as possible!

You can book upto 10 x 2 hour slots per month, you must book your slot at least 1 hour in advance - so our technicians have an up to date fire register in case of emergencies.
If you need to cancel, please do this ASAP, as we may have people on a waiting list for that time slot.
-
Our one time purchase option is aimed at anyone wanting to purchase the 1st month's membership for someone as a GIFT.
If you want more flexibility, we recommend that you buy our ALL AREAS membership, so that you can pick and choose the area you work in.
-
We encourage everyone to have a tool kit - plyers, breakers, cutting tool, apron, goggles, FFP3 mask etc. (and we will sell starter kits in the shop for anyone who wishes to purchase one on your INDUCTION)
When it comes to the supplies for creating the art (clay/ tekta/ frit etc) we would much prefer for you to buy your supplies from our shop, which will be on site. (You can bring your own if you use one of our listed suppliers, and can show us your receipt)
This isn't so that we can charge more, it is so that we can guarantee the quality of the materials and we know that what is going in our kiln, or being handled in our studio- is safe.
There are lots of websites claiming to be selling genuine copper foil or COE 90 glass or glazes for stoneware - but if 1 purchase made online has been missed to you, and is an inferior quality to our materials- it could compromise every other piece of work in the kiln, or the the health and safety of others, our staff etc.
With all supplies coming from businesses we work with, if something does go wrong - we can act on it immediately, by going to the source, and get any issue resolved ourselves.
Our suppliers are;
Warm Glass
Glass Studio Supplies
CTM Potters Supplies
YPO

We have a supplies shop, where you can purchase materials to use in your chosen membership area.
We have a unisex toilet, and an access bathroom.
Theres is a large overflow carpark at the rear of the site.
In Holme Mills where we are situated, there is Zapato Brewery on the corner, which sells hot and cold drinks, plus some bar snacks. Sometimes they have food vans over Fri-Sun too.
We won't be offering hot drinks to members (like we do on our courses and workshops), but you can visit Zapato and bring it back, or bring a flask, and food with you.

We are currently running access/PP on:
Mondays-Thursdays and the 2nd Saturday of each month.
This is subject to change, as we assess what members want, and what our staff can facilitate.
-
PP stands for Personal Practice, and it's what we've used on our booking system for the last couple of years for our fused glass members.
Access time/ membership time slots/ PP all mean the same thing.
Working on your own, with a technician in the studio, doing your own personal projects, using skills and techniques you have learned on a course or workshop.
-
We highly recommend anyone who has done courses elsewhere previously, to do at least 1 course or workshop with us before starting a membership.
Its a new environment, with different equipment, a different set up etc.
IF, however, you are a working artist, and do CERAMICS or FUSED GLASS or STAINED GLASS as your job, that is a different matter!
We'd assume if you're good enough to make a living from it, that you don't need our tuition!
You'd just need to book an induction.

Each Glass member will have a dedicated shelf on the trolley and space for an additional crate.
Each ceramic member will have a dedicated shelf on the trolley, and can have use of 1 plastic drying tub per project per month.
-
We are charging for firings based on the space it takes up on the kiln shelf for Fused Glass, or based on the weight for Ceramics.
e.g- a 30x30cm piece of fused glass will cost £6
e.g- a bisque firing is included in the purchase of your clay, £3.50 per kilo
