Kids After School Art Club - 7 to 12 years
Our Tuesday after school art club is for children aged 7 to 12 years, running from 4pm to 5pm during term time.
Our friendly kids tutor will introduce a variety of skills every week and each term we will carry out fun projects! Our class will have a maximum of 8 children and is the perfect way for them to get creative whilst making new friends.
We have lots of lovely independent businesses in the village, so why not drop off from the school run and go enjoy a coffee.
Purchase a weekly ticket to come to one session before booking the full block, we’re sure you’ll love it and want to come back! View the plan for April/May term below!
Week 1 - Plan your 3D animal portrait! Choose your animal, clothes and accessories, and draw it on a piece of paper
Week 2 - Start making the 3D head for your portrait from a recycled egg box! Think about the shape, nose and ears
Week 3 - Draw and paint the flat bits of your portrait - including the frame!
Week 4 - Time to assemble the portrait! Add any last minute touches like bunting or umbrellas
Week 5 - Our next project… Lino Print! Start drawing and planning your design. These will go onto cards/plaques/t shirts and scan in to make a digital background for your phone!
Week 6 - Finish your design and trace it on baking paper. Use marker pen to make it stand out, ready for the final week!
Week 7 - Create your lino print creations!

SUMMER Clay Buddha sculptures @ Zapato (OUT n ABOUT)
Join Carolyn & Jackie at Zapato - Using air dry clay, we're going to sculpt a beautiful Buddha, taking inspiration from Niki De Saint Phalle's huge sculpture (you may have seen it at YSP)
We'll use some clay tools and natures tools - our hands!
each person will receive a lump of clay roughly the size of a fist, and we will show you how to manipulate the clay, to make a sitting figure :)
after you've finished with the shape, we will add textures by pushing small objects into the surface - beads, buttons, waxy leaves etc.
you can take them home as they don't need to be fired in a kiln, and once fully dry, you could even add colour to them if you want!
we'll be selling a few bits and bobs if you don't have watercolour paints at home (that's how we usually colour ours, but nail varnish works, sharpies or poster paints)
please buy 1 ticket per person over the age of 5, this is a family activity, everyone joins in!

We'll also have a go at FROTTAGE, if you don't know what that is - that'll be a nice little surprise on the day :)
