Watch the Birdie Exhibition

We are delighted to be hosting local photographer, Di Carey's, new exhibition "Watch the Birdie".  The exhibition launches on Saturday 2nd March and runs to April in our Create Space - with a fantastic opportunity to meet Di on 2nd March at 1.30pm.

Watch the Birdie has been a year or more in the making, with visits to the Farne Isles in Northumberland, Bempton Cliffs on the east coast, Skomer Island in Pembrokeshire and several local nature reserves, culminating in the prints on show.

Di produces original limited edition photographic prints, predominantly of wildlife & landscape. She has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art: Sculpture, and developed an interest in photography during her Foundation Course.

Four years of studying art had an impact on the way she looks at the world, which she hopes is reflected in her photographs. Di does not use Photoshop and employs a light touch when editing. She likes her images to be as close to the original scene through the viewfinder as possible.

Di says "I love the spontaneity of photography, the quirks of fate, but also the contemplative aspect of the discipline. Any form of visual art involves the maker looking long and hard, otherwise it can't speak to others, in my view (no pun intended!)"

Free to view during our opening hours, prints and cards available to purchase

Exhibition running from 2nd March to 13th April in our Create Space
