Mindful Drawing with Maggie O’Keefe – Thursday

Maggie O'Keefe returns with her popular short course in Mindful Drawing.  She will guide you in exploring some simple drawing practices designed to help us let go of the inner critic. You don’t need to know anything about mindfulness or anything about drawing.

“Mindfulness means the awareness that arises from paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.” Jon Kabat-Zinn 1990

Surely drawing is a perfect way to stay present in the moment...or is it? Not if the inner critic has anything to do with it. It tells us “I can’t draw”. It judges our drawing to be “not good enough”. It tells us not to bother.

But the inner critic is just another form of thinking, and as Ruby Wax tells us “Thoughts aren’t fact, so don’t take them seriously”.

Times/Dates: 7pm-9pm from 4th - 25th October
