  • How do I book an arty party?

    Please click here and fill out the form with your details and we will get in touch with you to confirm availability

    Once confirmed we will set up a reservation via our Bookwhen system which will allow you to securely pay your deposit , and all of your party details will be confirmed in an email.

    What’s included in an Arty Party?

    All art materials, Arty Party hosts and technicians, private use of our studio for 2 hours.
Juice and water for children, hot drinks for parents

    Can parents stay during the party?
We ask that only the parents/carers of the birthday boy or girl stay for the Arty Party. Other parents can leave their children with us, have a look around the village. Go and enjoy a drink whilst we look after your child!

    Who organises the food for the party?
Using our list of trusted food providers, you are free to ring or email to organise the food that you would like for your child’s party. We recommend that you do this 2 weeks before the party to avoid disappointment.
This way, you are in control of any of the guests who have dietary requirements or allergies.

  • How do I get in touch about tuition?

    How much is private tuition?

    Prices starts at £35 per person/ per hour for small groups of family or friend. Prices start at £35 per hour for 1:1 with Penny, or £45 with Zoe. (one student and one tutor)

    You can try a one-off session, meet Zoe or Penny, our PT tutors, have a look around the studio, and try a short art activity.

    Then, if you are happy to continue, we will book you in for our 5/6 week block to build skills and a routine to fit your timetable.

  • Here at Globe Arts Studio in Slaithwaite we have an indoor exhibition space “Globe Gallery”, and outdoor space “Howard Asher Garden Gallery” and a gallery in Zapato Brewery, down the road from us!

    How can I exhibit my work in one of Globe Arts’ Galleries?

    If you want to exhibit your work, you will need a digital portfolio, CV, links to websites and social media, which you can send to admin@globearts.org.uk and we will get back to you. When sending your email, you can subject it for “Attention of Jackie”

    Our exhibition gallery is usually booked up for 12-18 months, so please consider this when enquiring about exhibiting your work.

  • How do I pay for my course or workshop?

    the website links take you directly to our secure booking system, you pay there using your bank card.

    Can I pay in person?

    Yes, you can. If you want to pay using our card machine or in cash, you just need to let us know, so that we can get you through the checkout as an admin member - otherwise you’ll lose your place and the ticket will remain unpaid in your name in our checkout.

    Can I do a BACS?

    Yes, you can. You do need to let us know via email (info@globearts.org.uk) if you wish to pay this way.

    What if I can’t afford it all at once?

    You can choose to book the whole block at once, or pay weekly by purchasing weekly tickets. Weekly tickets help to spread out the cost, or allow you to still attend the sessions you like if you can’t commit to the whole block (eg. holiday or appointment)

  • What should I bring with me?

    Unless we have specified in an email to you after booking, you do not have to bring anything to class - we provide all materials and refreshments.

    In some classes it is better to work in a sketchbook - but again- we do provide paper in every session.

    Can I buy materials from you?

    Yes, we sell most of the products we use in D&P classes, like sketchbooks, pencils, brushes, paints etc.

  • What does it mean to be a Friend of Globe?

    Being a Friend of Globe means that you pay for a membership, as a one off payment, or annual rolling subscription - both of which entitle you to perks that other people don’t receive!

    How do I cancel my subscription?

    Unfortunately, this is not something that we can do for you. However, if you get in touch with your bank/ on your app, you will be able to cancel the direct debit yourself.

    What discounts do I get?

    We are constantly updating our lists of workshops, some are for friends ONLY, some are completely free if you have a membership ( anywhere you see this code-F4F) and some courses or workshops have discounted tickets for friends. See the list of perks at the bottom of this page

  • Do you take volunteers on all year round?

    Yes, we do! If you’d like to help out, gain some skills, build on your art knowledge - then volunteering could be the answer. Email z.gale@globearts.org.uk to organise a visit to meet some of the team and chat about upcoming opportunities which suit you.

  • How do I apply to do my work experience with you?

    We will be interviewing for work experience places from 2024 onwards, to make sure we are the right match for each other!

    Interviews will be held in Feb/March of each year, for the work experience places, which run June/ July depending on your school.

  • When do you open?

    Generally we are open 10-8pm Monday - Thursday, 9.30-2pm Saturdays. We open every now and then on Fridays and Sundays - for one off workshops and Arty Parties etc.

    Do I need to call before I visit?

    No, don’t call the studio, just check our Google opening times- we try to keep this updated every week, as we do change opening times sue to meetings/ staff illnesses/ school holidays etc.

  • Are you taking on new tutors?

    We are always on the look out for new and interesting artists/ tutors - who have different styles/ skill sets to our regular Globee team :)

    How should I show my interest?

    You could come and chat to us in person at the studio, send us your CV (info@globearts.org.uk), you could follow us on social media and start a conversation there - so we can see your art and get a feel for your style straight away!
