Adult Sketchbook Club at Zapato

We have teamed up with Zapato Brewery to offer some new short adult art courses, as well as afterschool kids arts classes!

At Zapato, from 26th June to 17th July, we are running a chilled out Adult Sketchbook Club every Monday for four weeks. Rather than spending hours upon hours trying to perfect measurements and tones, this session has been more about being creative, finding our own style and just sketching freely. You can be as realistic or as abstract as you wish! With a variety of different equipment, such as markers, watercolour paints and fine liner pens provided by the studio, you can dabble in new styles or stick to what you’re familiar with.

The lovely Zapato Brewery is located along the canal between Slaithwaite and Marsden and can make a nice little change from the usual location of our art studio if you’re looking for some new surroundings.

In today’s course, it was so interesting to see how everyone draws the same object in such different ways from one another, and what different people focus on. Remember - there are no right or wrong ways to draw! The 90-minute session was relaxed and comfortable – perfect for anybody who is looking to get out of the house for a little bit, meet some new people and have a good natter!

One of our Adult Sketchbook Club attendees said that the first sketchbook session had “been good to work with people that you don’t normally work with and see what other people do.”

Another member who joined us said “it puts you out of your comfort zone, and makes you use materials that you don’t normally use”.

If you have missed the first sketchbook session, don’t worry! You can still go online and book to join our remaining sessions.

If you’re looking to get arty at Zapato but don’t fancy sketchbooking, we have an array of different courses and events at the lovely Brewery that you can view on the Zapato x Globe area of our website. From 4th July to 18th July, we are having Basic Book Binding sessions every Tuesday down at Zapato, and you can book these sessions as a standalone class, or book all 3! On Tuesday 18th July, we also have a Mosaic coasters class at Zapato, too!

Make sure to not miss out!
