• Week 1- 4 = working with copper and brass

• Weeks 5 & 6 = refinement of earlier techniques and possibility to use simple techniques with silver

This is the perfect beginner (and improver) course allowing you to develop different techniques over 6 weeks/ 15 hours.

We will be using copper and brass to explore the fundamental techniques of jewellery making. We will form pieces from sheet metal and wire and learn how to shape them into earrings, pendants or brooches.

We will solder using a gas torch, cut out shapes using a piercing saw, add texture & details to a metal surface through hammering & use of punches. We will also learn how to make our own findings, which are the ear wires & little jump rings that link pieces together.

The course is aimed at beginners and Frances will guide you through each technique, however, if you have attended the course previously or have experience from else where then you will be able to develop your skills further.

You must be able to do the full block, no weekly tickets available for this particular course.
