Throwing Ceramics - WED @G2

  • Globe 2 West Slaithwaite Road Huddersfield, England, HD7 6LS United Kingdom (map)

Join David on Wednesday afternoons for our latest ceramic course- throwing on the wheel!

Spring Term - Wednesday 23rd April til Wednesday 21st May - fully booked!

WHAT: Learn the exciting art of throwing on the potter's wheel. This course is perfect for beginners and intermediates, where you will learn in a small intimate group to ensure you get the proper guidance and tuition needed.

You will develop the skills to throw your own pots in just a few weeks; learning how to centre the clay, open out the shape, pull up the walls and control the form. Your tutor will show you how to shape your piece, trim and neaten, then decorate with glazes before your creations are fired in the kiln.

You should come away with 3 masterpieces to take home, but please be aware that absolute beginners’ pieces are more likely to break during the bisque fire, so there is a chance that they might not survive!

WHO: David will be your tutor for this 5 week course. David is fantastic ceramicist and has been a part of the Globe Arts team for many years.

WHERE: Globe 2, Holme Mills, West Slaithwaite, HD7 6LS

WHEN: Wednesday 23rd April - Wednesday 21st May, 1 - 3pm

HOW MUCH: £140 for 5 weeks (5 x 2 hour sessions) - includes tuition, materials and refreshments

Looking for a different day? You can also join us on Friday afternoon
