Drawing the Season - Life Drawing with Jo Blaker

This workshop is an opportunity to explore how a seasonal focus might inspire, extend, deepen or enrich our life drawing experience. It is devised for experienced life drawers, looking for chance to spend longer immersed in the life drawing process. This session is a new offering from Jo Blaker & Globe Arts, and will combine drawing from the model with drawing in response to seasonal sounds, smells & natural forms.

We will explore concepts taken from natural processes at this time of year such as disintegration, layering & dispersal. We will use mark making, natural drawing tools, different papers, colour palettes etc in our responses to these themes. Trudi, our model for this session will work with us to create poses responding to our theme - with input from the group.

The length of this session ensures time to share & discuss our work and that we can take breaks where we need them and let ourselves really sink into the experience and savour it. The focus of this session is upon stimulating our creativity & expression as artists, responding to a range of stimuli as well as the human figure. Each artist will have the freedom to pursue their own choice of process, material, scale etc - responding to the model during timed poses.

We hope in this session to get people started and for the artists in the room to take that in their own direction.

Please note - this class does not include teaching on proportion, measuring or other formal aspects of life drawing.
